Fashion: Through Being Cool?

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Arrived on Sandbox Island to find a rock concert going on. The drummer, one Llamarama Nelson, insisted I give him a fashion accessory that he spied me wearing…

So I don’t care what everyone says, it’s still cool, I say, still cool.

Fan Mail

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

How nice! Fan mail from a visitor to my installation, from an avatar whose initials are SP:
“Hi Davan! I just found your Cubes installation and loved it! I like how you play with expectations… thanks for putting it out there/in here!”
Makes it all worthwhile.
(If you’re interested, type “Cubes” into Find Places […]

A Chat With My Operator

Monday, December 26th, 2005

My operator was asking the oddest questions yesterday. We spoke late into the night. It hadn’t occurred to me how different his world was, but also how similar. Here is, to the best of my recollection, part of the conversation which transpired.

davan camus: Mostly all the same things […]

// llTargetOmega() Bug, on SL 1.8-whatever, on Mac OS client
// Instructions: Make a two prim object, and put this in the CHILD prim.
// Clicking on […]

Wax Cylinder Player

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

Aah, finally a small gadget worthy of a Product Glamor Photograph, if I may be so bold!

It’s operational. The needle positions itself to the requested track, touches down, and, as the W-30 cylinder rotates plays the track. You can load it up with as many sound tracks as you like. Can be chat or dialog […]

LSL Efficiency

Monday, December 19th, 2005

We’re starting some notes about scripting efficiency. Will perhaps add to it from time to time.

Textures For You

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

We’ve started to collect some textures. These aren’t textures that I or my operator have created, just some stuff we’ve found on the internet. But we’ve done a bit of work to fetch them all and make them browsable.
Herman Miller furniture textures. These are fabric (and other) patterns available on their site for architects and […]
